The Mobile@Work app enables Android users to use their personal mobile phones to access work materials and emails in a secure environment.

I worked with engineers and project managers to define product requirements and also designed app set-up. I delivered the Process Flow and Wireframe concepts.

Process Flow

During app set up, a challenge emerged - jumping in and out of the app multiple times to the Android settings screens. This is an Android system behavior required to configure permissions the app needs access to. This behavior is unavoidable, it can also be jarring and disorienting.

Set-up Step 1

To ease this experience, the user is guided through the set-up process with detailed instructions of what to expect at each step. While this approach generates a few extra steps, it increases overall user confidence and promotes task completion.
