I participated in a Health2.0 sponsored mobile app challenge hosted by healthfinder.gov to design and build an application that delivers the healthfinder.gov resources to people in a compelling format. Our solution is Preventify.me, a mobile web app that personalizes prevention activities to educate, motivate, and inspire users to take charge of their health.
Preventify.me was awarded as a top 3 finalists in the challenge.
I participated in a 3 day hack-a-thon hosted by Prebacked Health to work on current challenges in healthcare. Our focus was on improving the in-patient hospital care experience. A big issue patients face in the hospital is feeling disoriented and not knowing what to expect. The solution we presented to a panel of industry experts is PatientPal, a bedside tablet app that helps empower patients during their hospital stay.
The lack of transparency in health care costs and not understanding one’s own health care needs makes choosing health care providers and plans a daunting task. I designed UI concepts for the Castlight Health website to empower individuals to understand their health care needs, make cost effective choices, and to encourage users to be more proactive about their health decisions.
The Mobile@Work app enables Android users to use their personal mobile phones to access work materials and emails in a secure environment. I worked with engineers and project managers to define product requirements and also designed app set-up.
MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) websites are packed with information. I designed the website to help prospective players learn about the game and support existing players during game play. We worked in the Agile process and launched the site in 2.5 months to meet major deadlines.
I redesigned the Parental Controls feature on the TiVo DVR letting customers set various content restrictions to safeguard children from offensive material and to provide a more holistic experience enabling greater content control. I designed a balance between deterring unauthorized individuals from accessing restriced content and preventing authorized individuals from being penalized in the process. It is a complex feature that permeates all aspects of the UI.
I designed the “OnBox Shop” TV application introducing a new medium for purchasing TiVo products and services directly through the TiVo set-top-box. The app’s performance affirmed the TiVo DVR to be an acceptable medium for promoting and selling big ticket TiVo products, measured from direct sales through the app and driving sales to the web.
Cochlear implants offer profoundly deaf individuals a second chance to hear. I redesigned the UI and workflow for the software by incorporating a bilateral programming feature introducing the ability to program both processors (left & right) in the same session. Previously, audiologists were limited to programming each implant separately, leading to multiple sessions, long office visits, and opportunities for error.
The Mobile@Work app enables Android users to use their personal mobile phones to access work materials and emails in a secure environment. I worked with engineers and project managers to define product requirements and also designed app set-up.
The “MVD (multivariable digital) Transmitter” is a device that monitors fluids processed into everyday consumable products such as bubble gum, perfumes, detergents, etc. to ensure the stability of the product. The next generation enhancements proposed increasing the controls from 2 buttons to 3 and an upgrade to the overall navigation. However, my exploration of a 5 button solution to simplify the workflow was accepted as the new design direction.
