I participated in a 3 day hack-a-thon hosted by Prebacked Health to work on current challenges in healthcare. Our focus was on improving the in-patient hospital care experience. A big issue patients face in the hospital is feeling disoriented and not knowing what to expect. The solution we presented to a panel of industry experts is PatientPal, a bedside tablet app that helps empower patients during their hospital stay.
I worked with a small team of physicians, developers, and designers to identify an issue to tackle. I was involved in concept creation and designing the UI for our concept in one action packed day.

PatientPal helps educate and inform patients of their daily schedule during their hospital stay. This app expose patients to a schedule they can refer to.
Managed by hospital staff, builing and updating a schedule for each patient’s unique case is as easy as dragging and dropping a filtered list of Procedures, Prescriptions, Exercises, and Questions.
Description
This solution empowers patients to feel in control and better prepared to engage with their care team by providing helpful materials to educate patients about their treatment plan including: listing and describing upcoming procedures, providing video demonstrations of exercises to perform, and reminders to take medication, etc.
Nurses can monitor patients indirectly to maximize their time, in addition, patient data is tracked and aggregated into a summary for physicians to review and provide better care.
